Porsche 993 GT2 of 1995 model has gone under the hammer at the price of £ 1.8 million

All visitors of RM Sotheby’s auction house, which couple weeks ago organized an auction in London, were surprised by Porsche 911 of 1990-ies. Blue sports car Porsche 993 GT2 in 1995 found a new owner at the price of £ 1 800 000, although the initial cost of the magnificent machine was estimated at £ 750,000 to £ 850,000. As we understand, new owner will never regret.

This unexpected turn created a precedent for other models of Porsche. So, yellow 964 Turbo S Lightweight of 1993 model year went under hammer at the price of £ 974,400, exceeding the highest expected revenue quadrupled, and the 993 Carrera RS Clubsport of 1995 model year was sold almost twice more expensive then the proposed price. The very Porsche 993 GT2 belonged to a private collector and at the time of sale has run 12,370 km.

In general Porsche has built 194 copies of 993 GT2, only 57 of them are certified for public roads. Now German car manufacturer is working on a new model GT2, which will receive powerful 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with two turbochargers developing 430 horsepower.
