Porsche 919 Hybrid Le Mans goes ahead

Extended test program of the second generation of sports prototype Porsche 919 Hybrid Le Mans was launched past weekend at the Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
Porsche racing team began full-scale tests of its main “weapon” in the upcoming season endurance races (WEC) – the second generation Porsche 919 Hybrid Le Mans. Hybrid car has already overcome the first kilometers on the home range in the suburbs of Stuttgart, and now the time has come “to see the light.” After checking on one of the most modern racing tracks, which will be conducted speed tests and tests of endurance, the team hopes to adequately perform in the prestigious championship WEC-2015, which kicks off on April 12 at the famous track “Silverstone” in the UK.

The new Porsche 919 Hybrid is a further development of last year’s race car team, which the team returned to the prestigious LMP1 class championship WEC. The car is equipped with a hybrid power plant, consisting of a 2-liter boxer engine with turbo V4, which causes the rear wheels, traction motor, which drives the front wheels, and two energy recovery systems.
