Look at the rear crossover’s body and you will understand that this is Porsche Cayenne of the third generation that replaces the 2010 model car. The novelty will be presented at the Frankfurt auto show in September. The dimensions of the SUV are just little bit different. It became longer on 63 mm and wider on 44 mm. Among the new exterior details there are distinctive headlights, grille, raised hood and extended rear doors.

The third Cayenne is built on the short-wheelbase MLB Evo platform that has double-wishbone in front and multi-link at rear. The distance between the axles is still the same 2895 mm. The new SUV became an all-wheel drive model. The Germans declare that this Cayenne is the first car in the world equipped with cast-iron brake discs and tungsten carbide covering.

The body structure is a hybrid – it consists of various steel grades and aluminum elements such as a hood, doors, wings and roof as well as front power structure, floor panel, and suspension components. In addition, the crossover received a lithium-ion battery, which is lighter than the traditional one by ten kilograms. As a result, Cayenne lowered the weight to 1985 kg. The German SUV is also supplied by light-alloy 19 or 21-inch wheels.
